Whilst Hugh Walsh, Trent Gay and Michael Cooke work in diverse industries, they not only share a common bond as Churchie Old Boys, through Aussie Kidz Charity they also share the motivation and vision to empower children with disabilities to reach their full potential and to live better lives.
Hugh Walsh is a Director of Walshs, one of Queensland’s leading financial planning, accounting and lending firms for medical and private clients. They provide accounting, mortgage broking and strategic financial planning advice. In 2022 & 2023 they were recognised by the Financial Review in the Top 100 accounting firms.
Trent Gay is the Chief Executive Officer at the Gay Group of Companies and Gold Coast City Marina. Gay Group of Companies is a property development and investment organisation, specialising in planning, construction and management of high quality residential and commercial properties with a strong focus on waterfront projects. Their holdings include cattle properties in Southwest Queensland, specialising in Droughtmaster cattle.
Michael Cooke is the Group CEO of Avcair, an Australian private jet charter offering personalised luxury and corporate private jet charter services with global coverage. They pride themselves on being one of Australia’s leading providers of VIP and corporate aviation.
Hugh, Trent and Michael are passionate and philanthropic Board Members of Aussie Kidz Charity, founded in 2000 by David Dahl and Ross Tisch. David and Ross, previously Directors of another children’s charity, were tired of seeing funds increasingly spent on overheads and not the children in need. They set up Aussie Kidz Charity with the desire to see 100% of funds raised going directly to helping disabled and under-privileged children by funding equipment or services that their families can’t afford to buy. It is a completely volunteer-based charity with very low operating costs that are predominantly met by its Directors.
If you would like to support Aussie Kidz Charity in their endeavours, then consider joining Trent, Hugh and Michael along with some of Queensland’s biggest names in sport, business and entertainment at Twilight on the Roof on Friday 6 September. A charity auction will provide the opportunity to bid for exclusive items, with 100 cents in every dollar raised going directly to the kids.
