Class of 1985 |
From early in his career at Woods Bagot where he spearheaded a comprehensive rebuilding process over three years, to his elevation as a non-equity partner, the journey for Churchie Old Boy Alastair MacCallum (1985) has been nothing short of inspiring; inspiration he says he drew from Greg Roberts, his Churchie art teacher.
In 2000 he ventured away from the security of a multi-national business, to co-found AMC Architecture (AMC) with his business partner David Cook. Together they have built AMC into one of Canberra’s leading design practices, successfully designing and delivering a broad range and scale of projects in the ACT, NSW Region and across Australia. Throughout, Alastair's foundation has been built upon fostering enduring relationships with clients, government entities, fellow professionals, and the broader community.
Alastair’s commitment to the ongoing success of the Canberra property sector is renowned. So too is his significant contribution to Canberra’s future sustainability and growth as the National Capital. For the years of effort he has put into the property sector both through his own business and through the Property Council of Australia (PCA), Alastair was recently awarded the Allan Wylucki Property Leadership Award. Widely acknowledged as the major property award for an individual in Canberra, the award recognises a respected individual who has embodied the vision of the PCA to support prosperity, jobs and strong communities. Furthermore they have left a positive impact on the people they have worked with, the communities they have served and have created a legacy to support future generations.
Congratulations Alastair!
