It is always pleasing to have Old Boys come back to Churchie to share their life experiences beyond the gates of Oaklands Parade. This week we welcomed back four Old Boys who were recipients of the Overseas Study Scholarship to present at the inaugural Overseas Study Information Evening which was well attended by current students and parents, as well as some Old Boys.

As the 25th recipient of the scholarship, Ian Lacy (1988) completed an MBA through the prestigious Kellogg School of Management, Illinois in 2002.  Boston Freestone (2015) completed a Masters in Sport Science at the University of Roehampton in London and now runs his own business in fitness and nutrition. More recently John De Bahl (2012), a second time recipient of this scholarship completed a Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations at the University of Oxford. Finally, Jack Lambert (2019) completed an overseas exchange from the University of Queensland to the University of Manchester to continue his studies in a Bachelor of Commerce and Economics. He also completed a short course at LSE in London as part of his studies. The four presenters shared their sincere gratitude for the opportunity that the scholarship provided.

This year Churchie Foundation is again awarding the Overseas Study Scholarships for Old Boys. Applications are now invited from Old Boys and current Year 12 students wishing to attend colleges or universities in the UK or USA. The application process will close on Friday 31 May. To find out more information and/or apply for a scholarship, please click here.
